Our Rich History
It was the dream of the-Late Madam Margaret Kashonga to start a school that will offer quality education to the growing community of Ongata Rongai township by then. The dream came to be true in the year 1993, when she started Thorn Tree School with only one learner by the name Kerry Otundo.
From its humble beginning, the school has realized tremendous growth throughout the years with the number of pupils increasing each academic year. As she took these tentative steps, she probably had no idea that her humble efforts would eventually be richly rewarded. They would birth one of the largest and most successful private schools in Kajiado County and the Rift Valley region. It is a school that currently boasts of a roll of hundreds of learners, a fleet of transport buses, storied buildings and dozens of teaching and non-teaching staff members.
In 2013, Thorn Tree School produced two pupils in the TOP- TEN LIST for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in the whole country and also emerged the top in Kajiado County till to date.
