Playgroup
In the Kenyan Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), the Playgroup stage is designed to lay the foundation for a child's holistic development. This level primarily focuses on fostering early social, emotional, and cognitive skills through play-based learning. It provides a nurturing environment where children engage in activities that stimulate curiosity, creativity, and basic cognitive abilities.
The Playgroup stage is not about formal academic instruction but rather about creating a positive and interactive atmosphere where children can explore, interact with peers, and develop essential motor and communication skills. Activities are tailored to the child's developmental needs, encouraging self-expression and building a strong sense of curiosity that forms the basis for future learning. The emphasis is on creating a supportive and joyful learning environment to instill a love for exploration and discovery in the early stages of education.
